Meet the maker

To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.

I have been interested in art and making things since I was very young. Whether it be drawing, playing with paints, or pasting together paper clippings from used magazines, I have always felt something inside telling me to create. I went to college, determined to make art work for me. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising Design in May 2014, and once graduated, I got a job working as a graphic artist for an oil and gas company. I worked there for about two years as the only graphic artist in the company, managing and creating all of their marketing and branding assets.

In March 2016 I took the plunge and became a freelance graphic designer. I worked with a variety of small businesses on logo projects and other branding needs. You can take a look at some of those projects here.

While freelancing, I also taught myself watercoloring, modern calligraphy, and hand lettering techniques. I began practicing more and more using these skills, and with the help of social media, I began to get client work based around my newly developed style and skills. I still love and am passionate about graphic design, but I now use these new skills  to help bring an even greater authenticity and creativity to my brand and client projects.
